This new feature on Richmond Navigator has been created just in time for me to do a little complaining. Now, those who know me know that I'm not one to complain, even when I'm in excruciating pain, which I kinda am. But, since I felt that I should ramble about something to kick this thing off, I felt it would only make sense to tell you why I'm in such pain.
It's all due to an auto accident I was involved in last Friday. I'm not sure you're allowed to call them accidents anymore. I know the police report calls it a crash. But "crash" sounds so horrific. It sounds like something devastating.
Anyway, while I'm not pointing the finger at anyone, not even that lady who made a right turn on red and hit my car, I will say that I was not responsible for the accident. At first the woman tried to blame me. She admitted making a right turn on red, but contended that I wasn't there when she pulled out. Unless I got caught up in some sort of space time continuum, I'm pretty sure I was there. The policeman felt the same way as I did, fortunately.
Now, I'm not telling you all this just to bore you with some mundane fender-bender tale. I'm on the horns of a dilemma. I've always mocked hypochondriacs who put on the neck brace and got themselves a shiny pair of crutches right after an accident (crash?). I have always felt that they were trying to milk the incident for all it is worth.
In my case, it's totally different. My back really does hurt, I tell you, and also my neck. My insurance company said they would pay for all my medical bills, so maybe I should just have these things checked out. Come to think of it, I think that the impact of the collision may have caused a couple of teeth to need root canals. And, I know I didn't have these liver spots on me before I got in the car last Friday. I suppose it would only be right to get this looked into.
But it's not just me that was hurt. It was my '86 Yugo, as well. I think that lady knocked the tread off my left rear tire when she hit me. And, I know the headliner was not hanging down over my eyes before. Could her car hitting mine on the right side, somehow have caused rust on the left side of my car and also made the push-button radio stop working? I'll have to mention that to the appraiser.
You know, I'm glad I'm writing this all down. This event was much more traumatic and costly than I had first thought. It's probably caused my sudden weight gain, too. I guess this wasn't just an accident. It's a full-blown crash.
