A Day At… Henricus Historical Park

Henricus Historical Park is the site of the second successful English settlement in the New World, the 1611 Citie of Henricus.Leaders of Henricus developed the first English hospital, the first college in the New World, provided the English home of Pocahontas and established tobacco as the first cash crop in Virginia.

Visit Henricus Historical Park and relive America's beginnings! By exploring the living history site, one can learn about the Powhatan way of life and the significant impact their culture had on the English colonists.Visitors can experience 12 re-created colonial structures and period dressed interpreters. The bluff provides a scenic picnic area and outlook over the James River.

Henricus Historical Park is open Tuesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.Admission is free for members, $8 for adults and $6 for children aged 3-12.Ticket sales end at 4 p.m. daily. Special events are planned through 2011 to commemorate the site’s 400th anniversary. Visit www.henricus.org for more information.
