Wirt’s road to opening 89-Paint started in college when he interned at a business where he painted over 400 houses and was named a general manager by his senior year.
By the time he graduated from the University of Virginia, he was running a nearly $2 million painting business.

“In college, I remember looking around and realizing everything is painted. Almost every surface needs paint, so I saw a huge need for what our company does,” he said. “I also remember seeing people hire contractors and not getting what they paid for, so I wanted a company that customers can call and know they are dealing with people they can trust.”
