2010 State Fair of Virginia At The Meadow

In its second year at the Meadow Event Park, the State Fair of Virginia is poised for another successful season. With sales up 2.5% last year, it is expected in 2010 to be well attended once again. The change in location has drawn in new attendees, while past attendees did not appear to be put off with the drive.

The Meadow Event Park is rich in history and offers a natural, open environment for the State Fair and an extensive equine center to explore. This scenic spot was once a horse farm and is the birthplace of the famous U.S. Triple Crown champion, Secretariat.

It was a challenge last year setting up a fair at a completely new site, and much was learned through the process. The fair has completely overhauled its parking process for 2010 to get cars off the road and into parking areas in a timelier manner, and a tram system will provide transportation for guests to the gates.“Our great partnerships with RMC Events, the Virginia State Police and EMS Training Systems, Inc, who provided fire/EMS services, have driven our success,” said Jay Lugar, Marketing Director at SFVA. Lugar credits the public’s support for the ongoing success of the fair, as well.
